The ‘Green Paper’ in a long-term perspective

Summary

After a survey of the main financial and economic features of the Common Agricultural policy and of the long-term development of the diversified structural situation of farming in the community.the article summarises the basic policy options presented in the ‘Green Paper’. In the concluding section.the budgetary consequences of the policy proposals are analysed and the need for a more balanced price support for the various products and a further geographical differentiation of the common policies according to economics ans environmental conditions are advocated.
