Received September 1, 1982; final version received November 1, 1982

Summary

This article presents a survey of the models which have been developed, or are presently under construction, by the Center for Agricultural and Rural Development at the Iowa State University.

Statistical models, several types of programming models and hybrid models, combining both approaches, are discussed in relation to the problems for the analysis of which they were constructed and in relation to the amount of detail, required to satisfy the different users of the model results.
